Some of our products don't need a finish. For example, Versante is a true all-in-one paint and is washable, which means it has a built-in moisture barrier. As a paint for both exterior and interior woodwork, Vivace certainly doesn't need any extra protection.
Vintage Chalk, on the other hand, is a paint that we deliberately made porous. We did this to make it suitable for all kinds of decorative techniques. This open structure means that you need to protect your valuable work with a finish, which can be wax or varnish ("clear coat").

Wax is a decorative finish that provides medium protection. It is a decorative finish available in many colors.
 
Next is our Deco Varnish. This lacquer protects furniture painted with Vintage Chalk Paint. It is matte and non-yellowing and provides good protection without affecting the underlying finishes. Deco Varnish is also great for creating chalkboards. 
 
Venice and Volterra are chalk paints. This pure and natural paint is naturally porous. It requires protection when used in high traffic areas or on furniture. Eco Sealer penetrates the lime paint and makes it more water repellent.
 
If you need strong protection, choose Heavy-Duty Varnish. This finish is designed to protect floors and stairs. But you can also use it to protect kitchen and bathroom cabinets. Even if they are painted with Versante. Think of it as an extra layer of protection.
